Credits & licenses

PixJuice is a thin studio around other people's excellent pixel art. Here is who made what, and the licenses that let us ship it.

The effects: pixelfx

Effects from pixelfx by Patch and Hugo Duprez, MIT License. All 244 effects in this catalog — fire, explosions, ice, melee, arcane, weather and the rest — are rendered live from the pixelfx library's own code. Nothing here would exist without it.

pixelfx itself builds on more good work, described in its NOTICE file: src/core/sim.js and some effects adapt Hugo Duprez's open-source pixel art VFX (MIT), and src/core/act.js adapts ideas from Hollow Crown (MIT).

What's PixJuice's, and what isn't

Exported files & attribution

Every exported sprite sheet and JSON sidecar records where the art came from: the JSON's meta.app points at the pixelfx repository and meta.pixelfx.id names the effect. You don't owe PixJuice anything for exports — but a nod to pixelfx in your credits screen would make the artists' day.
